About Tomas Willstedt
Tomas Willstedt , organist at Lund Cathedral since 1976, has long been active as an educator and artist in Sweden as well as abroad. In 1992 he was awarded first prize at the International Organ Improvisation Competition in Haarlem, Holland. In the wake of this prize invitations followed from all over the world. Willstedt is also active as a composer. Furthermore he has written a textbook on improvisation.
Tomas Willstedt is known as an unique performer of contemporary music. He is a genuine renewer, drawn to music containing innovative elements and fusing different genres. He has furthermore the reputaition of being an unusual and daring interpreter of classical music.
Tomas Willstedt, ist seit 1976 Organist im Dom zu Lund. Er hat eine lange künstlerische und pädagogische Tätigkeit hinter sich sowohl im Inland als auch im Ausland. 1992 erhielt er in Haarlem/Holland den ersten Preis im internationalen Orgelimprovisationswettbewerb. Hieraufhin erfolgten viele Einladungen von nah und fern, Tomas Willstedt ist auch als Tonkünstler tätig. Ausserdem ist Tomas Willstedt Verfasser des beachtungswerten Lehrbuches der Orgelimprovisation.
Tomas Willstedt est organiste à la Cathédrale de Lund depuis 1976. Il est un artiste et un pédagogue renommé, en Suède et à l´étranger. En 1992, il a obtenu le Premier Prix du Concours International d´ Improvisation à l´orgue à Haarlem, en Hollande. Cette distinction prestigieuse lui a valu de nombreuses invitations dans le monde entier. Willstedt est un compositeur très en vue. Il est également l´auteur d´une série réputée de manuels sur l´art de l´improvisation.
